I'm Going to New Orleans!
My son and I are going to New Orleans! It is not for a vacation, but to help restore some of the devastation left from Hurricane Katrina.
We are going to go with our church and other churches from Suffolk County, Long Island. We are either re-building a church or a house--we won't know until just before we get there as things change from week to week depending on supplies, money and help. I am really excited to be helping with this and bringing back some hope to the people who experienced this horrible disaster.I love that my son will be doing this with me--what a great gift that he can share in this experience of helping others in great need--at such a young age too! We are going to be with Camp Restore. We need to raise $900.00 for the two of us to go. Luckily we have a few months to raise the money as we are not going until February 2008.
