Ten years ago today our lives changed as we knew it. Innocence was no more. Of those brave men and women who perished in the Twin Towers on9/11, I personally lost my cousin FF Eric T. Olsen and a dear childhood friend FF Richard Muldowney, Jr. This past Friday I attended a beautiful memorial boat ride in celebration of Richie's life and today I went to a memorial service at the East Islip Fire Department. Both were very moving and between that and watching everything on TV, I am drained! My emotions and my heart are still raw with pain. A few years agoin order for me to help myself deal with all that happened, I started a scrapbook to capture the events of 9/11 and the days after. My husband went into Ground Zero to help. Below is a scrapbook layout of him on the "pile" as they called it. I am very proud of him and he is still my hero! I thank God that at the time of this horrific day, he was already retired a year from the NYPD--I know that he would have been there that day and he would have gone into those buildings not thinking of himself. So, on this 10 Year Anniversary I want to thank all of those men and women who thought nothing of themselves to touch another life, to save another life, who gave the ultimate sacrifice. I would also be amiss if I didn't thank all of our military for giving of themselves to protect my freedom and the country that I love! GOD BLESS AMERICA!
we have found a bracelet with his name on it here in Texas. Do you know what the bracelet may be from? It says, "FF Richard Muldowney, JR 9-11-01 FDNY ladder 7.
